Dreamwork is a practice of paying deeper attention to the messages that come to us during sleep. It is a combination of analyzing, contemplating and taking action around the information provided by our subconscious. My teacher, the late Dr. Jeremy Taylor used to say, “Dreams always come in service of our health and wholeness.” I have found this to be an absolute truth in my life. If we place value on the gifts that dreams can provide, we are opening ourselves to a resource that we have every single night. Taking the time to sift through the images, sounds, colors, experiences provided in dreams, we can find deeper meaning in our lives. From the place of connection, we can make decisions that can lead to more joy, love and satisfaction.

Dreamwork is a beautiful compliment to Chinese medicine because both modalities utilize a symbol language. They can be layered well and provide a framework for treatment. Dreamwork can also be done independently of any Chinese Medicine influence. Dreamwork can be done alone, with a practitioner or in a group. One can keep a dream journal, practice active dreaming or create art from the information coming through dreams. All of the previously mentioned techniques can deepen relationship with Dreams and be helpful tools to guide anyone towards a more vibrant existence.
